It is technical writing and adheres to the universal lingo. The tenses are writing in such a way that is culturally sensitive. The technical nature of the contents makes the grammatical error less noticeable.

Yes each section/chapter works as a stand-alone instruction. The descriptions are clear but often missing context missing the overall purpose and best practices for the processes. Missing many technological improvements that have been made available to these machining/manufacturing methods.
The contents are accurate but the title is misleading. Furthermore, this book is instructional intended for someone who works in a shop or is intending to, not for students who simple what to learn about how certain designs or components/parts can be manufactured. Modern manufacturing methods include thermoplastic injection molding, sheet metal stamping, profile extrusion, 3D printing, casting and forging, etc., none of which are mentioned. This book is about machining processes and fabrication, which are components of manufacturing but incomplete if you are looking for a more comprehensive overview.
